The objective of Shipbuilding Credit is to assist local shipbuilders to build ships and vessels, and to encourage local and foreign ship owners to purchase from local shipbuilders. The main conditions for credit are as follows:
Applicants
Duly registered local shipbuilders, local or foreign ship owners, or buyers.
Credit Amount
The maximum amount shall not exceed 80 percent of the amount of the shipbuilding contract.
Tenor
Two years during the shipbuilding phase and twelve years after delivery.
Security
Guarantee from local or foreign financial institutions, or collateral approved by Eximbank.
Currency
Except for local spending that may require loans in NT dollar, the loan is in principle extended in US dollar.
